Located at the mouth of the Kaladan River by the Bay of Bengal, Sittwe is the capital of the Rakhine State in western Myanmar. The city offers many interesting sightseeing opportunities. For example, the morning fish market, monasteries featuring old artefacts and coins from Mrauk U, the Payagyi Temple with its Rakhine-style sitting Buddha image cast in 1,900 and Sittwe View Point for the extraordinary sunset over Bay of Bengal.
