Tour Summary

Catch a glimpse of natural caves in Hpa An with historical background and beautiful sceneries. One of the fantastic reliefs displaying the history of Buddha’s life at U Nar Auk monastery on the way to Mawlamyaing is a MUST. Visit World Biggest Reclining Buddha image on the main road to Mudon and learn about local small businesses in Bilu Island are the attractions of visiting Mawlamyaing. Take a pilgrimage trip to Golden Rock traveling by truck will excite you.

Upon arrival in Yangon, you will be welcomed by our guide and transferred to the hotel. Rest of the day will be free at leisure for you.
Overnight in Yangon.
In the morning, we will set out journey to Hpa An which is famous for its surrounding mountain scenery and enormous Buddhist caves (about 6 hour drive).
On the way, we will stop at a local market at Kyaikhto for a while and visit Bayint Nyi Cave and hot spring. Upon arrival in Hpa An, transfer to the hotel at first for check in.
After refreshment, visit to Kawt Kon Cave, the hidden gallery of 7th Century artwork within the cave. Continue to a lovely Karen village nearby and explore the authentic life of local people.

At the end of the day, enjoy sunset at Bat cave which is one of the must-sees in Hpa An and it’s the home of an endless stream of over 100,000s of bats.
Overnight in Hpa An.
Breakfast at the hotel. We will start our first visit to Kyauk Ka Lak Mountain Monastery where we can take beautiful photos. Continue to Lumbini Park with its 1,000 Buddha images at the foot hill of Mount Zwekabin, landmark of Kayin State.
(Optional) hiking to the top of Mt. Zwe Kabin, located over 2,300 feet. Be prepared for many stairs rather than a trek. For average fit people it can be done in 2 hours to reach the 723 meters high summit. Enjoy the majestic view from the top before descending for about 1 hour. 
We then visit the stunning Sadan Cave with its beautiful statues and Buddha images carved into the walls. Continue our walk to a stream where a small wooden ferry will take us back to the entrance. It is truly impressive.
Transfer to the hotel in the city and the rest of the day will be spent at leisure.
Overnight in Hpa-An.
Today, after breakfast in your hotel, we will go to the Jetty and take a Boat to Mawlamyine, the capital city of Mon State. It takes approximately 3 hr. Enjoy the scenic journey and the charm of Thanlwin River along the boat ride which is the second largest in Myanmar.
Stop on half-way at Kadoe Village. We explore the simple village life in Kadoe Village and visit the U Nar Auk Monastery which houses fantastic reliefs displaying the history of Buddha's life. Continue our journey from Kadoe village to Mawlamyine, the capital city of Mon State. Upon arrival to Mawlamyine, transfer to the hotel for check-in and take a rest.
End of the day, enjoy panoramic view of the city and the sunset from Kyaik Thanlan Pagoda, where Rudyard Kipling’s poem begins: “By the old Moulmein Pagoda, lookin’ lazy at the sea/ There’s a Burma girl a-settin’, and I know she thinks o’ me…”.
Overnight in Mawlamyine.
After breakfast at the hotel, visit Mawlamyine Market to watch the daily life of trading people. We then drive to Bilu Island (Bilu Kyun) by crossing through the Aung San Bridge. Start Tuk-Tuk Tour on Bilu Island with over 60 villages, rice paddies and rubber plantations and maintains a remarkable range of traditional cottage industries included slate, sickle, smoking pipes, walking stick, rubber band and cigar rolling shop etc.
Proceed to Win Sein Tawya, the world biggest reclining Buddha image and visit Mudon’s hand weaving workshops. Return to Mawlamyine for overnight stay.
Overnight in Mawlamyine.
After breakfast set out our journey to Golden Rock. We will drive together to the base camp of Kyaiktiyo which takes about 5 hours.
Kyaiktiyo “The Golden Rock”, a boulder covered in gold, is balanced precariously on the very edge of a cliff.
Upon arrival of Kinpun base camp, we will switch from private car to a mountain hill truck for your trip up to the mountain station. This one-hour drive to mountain offers fascinating view along the path and surrounding.
Arrive at the mountain station from where it is just a short walk (approx. 10 minutes) to the Golden Rock. Visit the pagoda and there are amazing sunsets and sunrises to see and the huge rock shows its most beautiful color at dawn and dusk, while the pilgrims light candles and meditate all through the night.
Overnight in Kyaikhtiyo.
After breakfast, we will drive back to Yangon. Stop to visit the city of Bago, famous for its huge reclining Buddha.
We will visit Kya Khat Wai Monastery, one of the three largest Monasteries in the country, to observe the Buddhist monastic life, Shwethalyaung Buddha, a huge reclining Buddha and it is reported to be one of the most lifelike of all reclining Buddhas, Kyaik Pun Paya which was built in 1,476 and it consists of four 30 meters high seated Buddhas placed back to back in the four heavens directions.
This late afternoon, return to Yangon. On the way, photo stop at the Allied War Cemetery in Htauk Kyant. This memorial cemetery was built in 1,951 and the final resting place for over 27,000 allied soldiers who died in the Myanmar Campaign during World War II.
Overnight in Yangon.
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Yangon International Airport for your departure from Myanmar full of unforgettable memories of a truly unique country.
